Not too long ago, Wylie was the typical Texas small town. Everyone knew pretty much everyone else and there were no surprises when it came to things to do or places to go. Times have changed. Wylie continues with the small town charm, but the booming growth in population has brought a lot of new people into the city.
Wideawakewylie was conceived with the newcomer, visitor, and the occasional old-timer in mind. We simply provide a single place where our visitors can find current and accurate information on where to eat, what to do, where to stay, and where to shop in Wylie. This site is built, run, and updated locally in Wylie, Texas and our editors work hard to keep all of the addresses, phone numbers, and other information up-to-date. We also provide a community calendar for events that might be of interest to the community at large. Submission to the calendar are free, however our editors review and approve each submission to make sure it is accurate and is pertinent.
In short, we want to make it easy for our fellow Wylie residents and visitors to shop, stay, eat, and do Wylie.

Currently we list ALL restaurants in the Wylie area (to include some restaurants in Sachse, Murphy, and Lavon), ALL places to stay, and UNIQUE businesses or businesses that have become fixtures to the Wylie community.
